I know that she's the center of tabloid attention, but Angelina Jolie has impressed me as a woman who is really using her magic-celebrity powers to focus attention on things that seriously need it. An ambassador for the UN? Quite an impressive feat.

I guess, too, that any of the celebrities who seem well-grounded, intelligent, keep to themselves, work hard and don't act obnoxious have my admiration (to some extent); they're in the entertainment business but they keep the drama for the shows and reality for real-life.
